2005 Mitsubishi Outlander Reinforced Safety with Matched Performance Parts and Accessories

2005 Mitsubishi Outlander Reinforced Safety with Matched Performance Parts and Accessories
By Jenny McLane

The Outlander is built on a rigid unibody chassis and benefits from Mitsubishi's extensive experience in international rallies and raids. The Outlander benefits from such body-strengthening techniques as MASH seam welding and what Mitsubishi calls its RISE design (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution). Much of this technology was developed from the company's winning efforts in the Paris-Dakar raid as well as its involvement in the World Rally Championship with the Lance

It has four doors and a roomy cargo area that's easily accessible. Like other small crossover sport utilities, the Mitsubishi Outlander offers elevated seating for better visibility.

Mitsubishi's 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine is rated at 160 horsepower, matching the output of the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. Mitsubishi tuned the Outlander's engine to deliver the bulk of its torque at lower engine speeds. Mitsubishi's MIVEC electronic variable-valve setup helps the engine to operate at peak power and efficiency throughout the rev range.

The 2005 Mitsubishi Outlander is available in three models: LS, XLS, and Limited. All come with the 160-horsepower 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. Most models come standard with an automatic, but the base models come with a five-speed manual. Each is available with front-wheel drive (2WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD).

The LS trim includes air conditioning; cruise control; power windows and locks; power folding rearview mirrors; a height-adjustable steering wheel; height-adjustable driver's seat; a 140-watt, four-speaker AM/FM/CD audio system. It also has an analog clock; center console with storage; two 12-volt accessory outlets; 60/40 split, folding and reclining back seat; intermittent windshield and rear window wipers, and 16-inch steel wheels. A cargo cover, floor mats, keyless entry, and roof rails come standard on the AWD model and are optional on the 2WD model

XLS trim adds a rear spoiler, premium cloth seat fabric, extra speakers, whiteface gauges and clock, a leather steering wheel and shift knob, see-through headrests, a tubular roof rack and alloy wheels. Options for XLS 2WD include a Sun & Sound package with a 210-watt Infinity audio system with six-CD changer and sunroof.

The new Limited and Limited AWD have heated leather seats, front side airbags, heated outside mirrors, and body-colored fender flares and air dams.

Safety equipment includes three-point seatbelts for all five seating positions. Both front seats feature seatbelt pretensioner and force-limiter technology, which can help reduce injuries in an accident. Also standard are: child safety seat anchors. Anti-lock brakes are optional on the XLS and Limited models; ABS helps the driver maintain control of the car in an emergency braking situation.

Parts and accessories for Mitsubishi are available at Parts Train. All you have to do is go to http://www.partstrain.com/ShopByVehicle/MITSUBISHI and choose which ones are compatible for your needs. The advantage of using Mitsubishi parts and accessories is that these are especially designed to work well with all Mitsubishi cars and therefore you have ensured performance and maximized workability out of these parts and accessories.

Partstrain also offers car parts, which are continuously being improved upon to ensure quality service and performance.

Three Things Guys Love in Super Cars Scientific Look on Men's Psyche

Three Things Guys Love in Super Cars - Scientific Look on Men's Psyche
By Joe Guarrera

What is a stereotype of a real man? Tough, bad-ass, interested in cars and opposite sex, only thing he spends his free time on is tuning his ride.

Is this truly how real man is meant to be? I dont think so, it is just like with blondes, not every girl with yellow hair is so dumb that completing any everyday action is a tough one for her.

Anyway most of guys are interested in cars, it doesnt mean that every man out there is a petrol-head. We just find ourselves attracted to mechanics and/or looks of some automobiles.

That is actually what makes us different from beautiful sex. We are taking everything logically and women are making their decision mostly based on emotions. It doesnt mean that every man is completely washed off all emotions Robocop, we simply dont allow them to take control over us in most situations.

We just know what attracts us and what dont. Yeah, it is biggest difference between us and woman, if you dont believe me just look at their shopping habits, most of the time in shop they spent trying-on things they are not going to buy later. Is it logical? No!

Ok. So we are attracted to cars but what cars we like the most? Answer is simple, ones that we cant own, the fastest, the most beautiful, the most luxurious, simply the best of all, cars that are being called super cars.

But what exactly we find so appealing in those completely impractical cars? Ive decided to pick up the gauntlet and look at his problem from psychologists view[I am not one but who cares.

1. Looks.

I think that this is the most important factor of all. I based that assumption on fact that most man are visuals[they are more attracted to looks than other qualities. If you think that you arent, just think about last time you have seen some gorgeous girl, have you felt that worm wave of energy going through your chest? Maybe youve found yourself imaging all the things that you could do with her? If yes you are a hypocrite. Why? Cause you are feeling attraction that is based only on how she looks.

Thats why most man think that some car is great only cause of its trendy eye-catching design.

2. Dreams.

This is another important factor in my opinion, dreams are deeply in our psyche. Everyone love to dream, Why? Cause in dreams we can be anyone, we can do anything and own anything, for example a super car. I am sure that you have dreamed at least once in your life how would it be if you would have a million bucks. Yeah, million is really a big amount of money, you for sure could find this dreams so real that you have even made some kind of commitment that you will have such house, wife and car that you always wanted.

Dreams are extremely powerful, actually it is scientifically proven that our subconscious part of mind, responsible for things like breathing, processing of movements and other things we dont have direct control of, doesnt recognize the difference between reality and dreams. Thats why we can want something so badly, cause our subconscious after experiencing all the benefits of some situation[after dreaming sends info to our conscious mind that we want it.

3. Social Status.

Another biggie when comes to people overall not only men. Social status is fundamental of human communication since beginning of our species. Social status is like rank of power, more power you have better you are ranked. Funny thing is that from some reason men tend to think that having something to show off like car, big mansion or private jet will skyrocket their ranking but it is of course wrong.

I think that it all comes from idea of picking girls on all those material stuff. The concept isnt wrong itself cause you will for sure find some chicks attracted to money but such friendship regularly wont lead to long term relationship.

My advice for you is to go out there and search for stuff about social status cause it is really fascinating thing. Actually you can notice social status in behavior of almost all animals and by having this knowledge you can actually become a leader of the group and by that the coolest guy in your environment.

OK, lets try to sum up everything that I have written in here. First, guys are thinking logically and woman act emotionally and this is why we better like mechanics than them. There are 3 main causes that make men love super cars. First is look, as every guy likes to hang his eye on some curved body, of course car body you perverts! Second we want that cars cause we are big dreamers and like to spend most of time in our work thinking about how would it be if we would have something that we dont have. Third we want to increase our Social status which is oldest law of nature and indicator of masculinity.

I hope that after reading this stuff you know why you are drooling on your keyboard seeing new shiny red Ferrari and you will be looking on all of this stuff from different angle. I tried to make this article look scientific but I dont know if I have accomplished this task, so if you have any suggestions for my further writings email me.

16.9 Million Cars Sold in 2005

16.9 Million Cars Sold in 2005
By Lance Winslow

Considering the dire situation that both General Motors and Ford are currently, as well as the recent bankruptcy filing of Delphi Automotive Group one has to wonder if there is any good news for United States Auto Makers as we move into a New Year. Indeed there is and the great news for US Auto Makers is that over 16.9 Million Cars were sold in 2005. This is of interest because if so many cars were sold and sales so robust, why is the Industry in such horrific shape? Both Ford and GM announced lay offs in the neighborhood of 60,000 jobs at a time when car sales are actually up on the year by 0.4%.

US auto sales had beaten projections of 16.8 million auto sales with total sold in 2005 of 16,912,553 which beats the 2004 four numbers by just under a half a percent from December of last year. Considering all the bad news in the sector and manufacturing in general, well that is some pretty good news. The bad news is that Ford was down by 5 percent and GMs over all sales down by 4.3 and most of this was due to foreign competitors.

Toyota is up 9 percent and Honda is up almost five percent over last year. Daimler Chrysler and its divisions were up 4.2 in 2005. Currently there are few predictions yet for what the US Auto Makers can do in 2006, but one thing is for sure; there will be heavy discounting, lay offs, incentives on new cars and fewer models to chose from due to factory closings and a few new hybrid models to wet the consumer appetite for the future of automotive technology. More on this in 2006.

Nissan to Develop Advanced Auto Battery

Nissan to Develop Advanced Auto Battery
By Ryan Thomas

The growing threat of global warming and the depletion of fossil fuels has forced the auto industry to venture in the development of auto technologies which will reduce dependence on fossil fuels. One technology being explored by car manufacturers is the possible advent of electric cars.

Currently, the auto industry has successfully developed hybrid electric vehicles and fully-electric vehicles as well. These vehicles use an electric motor to aid the vehicles internal combustion engine. One major issue being faced by the auto industry when it comes to the construction of hybrid electric and even fully-electric vehicles is the battery pack which a vehicle needs to have so as to get and store power.

To address the issue, car manufacturers are partnering with other companies outside the auto industry to develop better battery packs for electric cars. One car company which has expressed its dedication to the development of better battery packs is the Japanese car company Nissan. The company recently announced that they have formed an alliance with NEC Tokin, which is a subsidiary of NEC, to develop highly efficient lithium-ion batteries for automotive application.

The partnership aims to make the electric cars more practical. A problem being faced by the electric car technology is the cost of production. If a partnership such as this can find a way to make an electric cars battery cheaper, then electric cars can be within the reach of an even larger number of consumers.

The partnership between two of Japans biggest companies will work on the safety and stability of lithium-ion batteries. This kind of battery is seen as a better alternative to the nickel-metal hydride batteries which is being widely used currently. Lithium-ion batteries weigh less than nickel-metal hydride batteries. It is also more powerful than Ni-MH batteries. In fact, lithium-ion batteries are half the size of nickel-metal hydride batteries but they can store twice as much power as the Ni-MH battery. This battery pack can efficiently power an electric car or its amenities such as power windows controlled by a Nissan window switch.

Investing in the development of an advanced battery pack will positively affect Nissan. After all, it is predicted that the rechargeable car battery market will experience a surge in the near future. The expected expansion of the said market will be the effect of the advent of electric cars. It can be expected that as car manufacturers come up with ways to bring the cost of production, the public will certainly buy these environment friendly vehicles.

Car manufacturers are already developing plug-in hybrid cars which show that the future of electric cars is coming pretty soon.

Ryan Thomas is a native of Denver, Colorado. He grew up in a family of car afficionados. He now resides in Detroit where he owns a service shop and works part time as a consultant for a local automotive magazine. You can visit Nissan window switch for more information.

12 Tips For Buying Cheap Used Police Cars

12 Tips For Buying Cheap Used Police Cars
By Tim Lee

Statistics reveal that there are nearly as many as three times more individuals that prefer buying cheap used cars at auctions and dealerships as compared to buying new. Many also prefer buying cheap used police cars and one main reason for this is that police cars can last long because these are turned off very seldom for their first 100 thousand miles.

Here are some tips and guidelines to follow when buying cheap used police cars:

1. You should have a definite budget as this will be very helpful in setting your limits prior to browsing online or going to sales lots wherein it sure is easy to get impressed with special promotions on a police car model and type that is outside your price range.

2. Go to a trustworthy dealership. Ask for referrals from family and friends and talk other customers. A reliable dealer will be up-front and fair in price, condition and value of its police cars as well as not pressure you in purchasing any car.

3. You should inspect its mileage, because the mileage is an excellent car age indicator.

4. Be sure to check out the police equipment in it. You may discover speakers, sirens, lights, radios, etc. Offer it first to the car dealer so he can lower the price on your police car. Or you can pull out the equipment then sell it to on-line auctions.

Just be sure not to give it to the police car dealer for nothing. Used sirens today are worth around 100 to 150 dollars and siren speakers are worth around 50 to 150 dollars.

5. Remember to examine carefully the tires. Uneven tread wearing may be an indication that the police car may require alignment or has suspension damage.

6. It is sensible to bring along your mechanic to inspect the car's mechanical condition. Also remember to test drive the used police car.

7. Do inspect it for contraband. These cars transport criminals so it is possible that these individuals slip some illegal stuff unto the rear seats!

Take it to your local police station, so they can inspect it for you. It is better that the police discover it, than have the police discover it at a raffic stop.

8. Ask for the car's maintenance records and check it out.

9. Be sure that the car's safety features are still complete.

10. Keep in mind that most of the time, the interior light will not light up when the driver's door is opened, this is because the police car is ordered like that. When the light is put on inside, the occupants in the car are easily seen.

11. Check and carefully inspect the car's rear door power window and lock controls. Most used police cars have deactivated rear-door locks, handles and power window controls in order to prevent criminals from escaping.

12. You must read carefully and understand fully all the warranty terms on the police car. Ask questions should you not understand anything, because a reliable dealer will willingly answer all your questions and explain completely the warranty details.

Keep in mind, the police car's actual price is just one of the many factors determining its total price. Compare warranty costs, financing rates, processing fees and trade-in car values also.

Research on the make and police car model and do compare prices and take the time to shop around before deciding on a car.

A Motorcycle Owner's Guide to Extended Auto Warranties

A Motorcycle Owner's Guide to Extended Auto Warranties
By Jackie Jones

Extended motorcycle warranties, also known as motorcycle service contracts, can save you money and ensure that your motorcycle is taken care of in the event of any problems. There are many different types of extended motorcycle warranties, as well as different places you can purchase them.

Often, you can purchase an extended motorcycle warranty from the dealership where you bought your motorcycle. However, if this is not an option, there are many other places where you can purchase these types of warranties, including brick and mortar companies and online.

When it comes to these types of warranties, you do not want to automatically go with the cheapest plan available. If you do, you could find yourself with a broken down car that you can't get fixed under the warranty. It's crucial to thoroughly research any extended motorcycle warranty that you are considering to make sure you understand exactly what is covered. It's also a good idea to shop around -- different companies offer different plans and rates.

Extended motorcycle warranties are not insurance plans, and should not be thought of as such. An extended motorcycle warranty extends the protection you receive with the initial warranty that comes with your motorcycle. The reason for an extended motorcycle warranty is simple -- repairs can be quite costly, especially on new motorcycles. This type of warranty protects you in the event of mechanical problems with your car.

It's prudent to purchase your extended warranty as soon as you can. The longer you wait to purchase one, the more you'll end up paying. If you can, purchase the extended warranty at the same time as your motorcycle. If you wait too long, you'll end up dealing with more expensive warranty providers and plans.

Make sure when purchasing an extended warranty that it covers your motorcycle in the events of both wear and tear and mechanical breakdown. It's important to understand exactly what you will receive with your warranty before purchasing. There can be a lot of confusing fine print when it comes to these plans, so choose a provider that you feel comfortable with. A good warranty provider will make sure you're aware of all the details of your plan, no matter how large or small.

When it comes to how much you'll pay for an extended motorcycle warranty, it will depend not only on the plan you choose and the company that offers it, but the type of motorcycle you have. For example, the extended warranty on a motorcycle that is known for safety and reliability will be less than the warranty on a high-powered sports car.

There are not only warranty plans for brand new cars, but used ones as well. However, it's likely that you'll need to deal with a third party provider with a used car rather than the dealership where you purchased it.

Before purchasing any kind of motorcycle warranty, check with the Better Business Bureau to ensure that the company you're dealing with has a satisfactory rating.

Your Sports Car's Color

Your Sports Car's Color
By James Young

If you are buying a new sports car, you may have the opportunity to select its cover from the ever-growing palette provided by auto manufacturers. When selecting a color for your sports car, there are a few factors one should consider.

Individuality may be more of a concern for some than it is for others. If one is seeking an original, or individual look for their sports car, they may be interested in the results of the annual DuPont car color survey. Every year, the survey examines each class of passenger automobiles and finds out which colors are most commonly chosen by consumers.

Based on the results of the DuPont survey, you should avoid a silver paint job if you are trying to stand out in a crowd. Silver has been the most popular color for sports cars each of the last two years and one out of every five sports cars purchased is silver. Those seeking a unique look may also want to think twice about going with red, blue or black color schemes. These three hues were the next most commonly used colors. In comparison, the number of yellow sports cars and green sports cars combined would still only equal approximately half of those sold with a red paint job.

There are few things that are researched as much as consumer habits. Not only are popular colors evaluated by research teams, they have also examined resale values for cars of different colors. Paint schemes that are particularly unique, it appears, are harder to sell used. Of course, this is not surprising. Thus, if you are preoccupied with eventual resale concerns, you might want to pick one of the more popular colors so the sports car will appeal to more prospective buyers.

If you plan on driving the sports car as a primary vehicle or with great regularity, you should consider your environment and usage habits when picking a color. For instance, one who must access a dirt road regularly should probably reconsider a desire for white or similar light hues. Alternatively, a light color might be perfect for someone living in a sunny climate and is more concerned about heat retention and paint fading than with showing a little dust.

When determining which color best suits you and your sports car, there is one factor you should not take into consideration. There is a venerable urban legend that claims car insurance is pegged at higher rates for those driving red cars. Proponents of this myth claim the insurance companies determined those who drove red cars were more prone to accidents and they accordingly increased rates. Today, there is absolutely no evidence to support the red paint insurance story. So, don't let the fear of a higher insurance premium dissuade you from buying a candy apple red sports car if that is your desire.

One should, however, consider the available interior packages when picking out their paint color. Generally, a dealer will recommend a complimentary color scheme, but many of us have seen cars with interior/exterior color combinations that were anything but flattering. Don't neglect to consider the look of the interior and the exterior together. Will the red paint really compliment the gray interior or neutral brown interior better? Make sure you put together a combination you will enjoy.

One of the great things about buying a new sports car today is the flexibility it affords you. Gone are the days of cookie-cutter cars with few options and limited paint schemes. Today, you can assemble your car to your custom specifications, including the paint job. When picking your color, be thorough in your thinking and you are likely to end up with the perfect sports car.

Your Vehicle's Suspension System

Your Vehicle's Suspension System
By Matthew Keegan

Owners of cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs, have differing needs when it comes to their vehicles suspension systems. For off road vehicles, navigating uneven and rocky terrain means that a four wheel drive suspension must be up to the task, while a performance vehicle must have a set of shocks that can be put through all of the rigors of road and track driving. In all cases a vehicles suspension system is not to be fooled around with; keeping it in great shape will ensure that you achieve the best driving experience for the applicable road conditions and prevent possible safety problems too.

Performance car drivers know one thing: stock suspension systems often leave something to be desired. Unless you drive a Corvette or Porsche, your factory installed suspension system could leave you desiring something better, particularly the ability to navigate turns and absorb bumps without feeling as if you are about to lose control of your vehicle. With that in mind, Koni has developed helpful products with your driving habits in consideration including shocks, coilovers, and struts that can truly keep you in control at all times. Koni shocks, for example, allow for you to tune your suspension with just a twist of a knob. That means if you are planning to navigate the twisting and turning roads of the Rockies, you can adjust your suspension accordingly for maximum control. Once you have reached your destination you can set your suspension back to its previous tolerances.

Truck and SUV owners have learned an important thing or two over the years: a quality suspension system is a must and a Trailmaster suspension kit is worth the investment. Each Trailmaster suspension kit is manufactured to the highest quality standards to ensure a perfect fit each time. Lathed and matched by qualified automotive technicians, a Trailmaster suspension kit is available for all of the popular models including Dodge, Jeep, GMC/Chevy, Ford, Toyota, and Nissan as well as for Isuzu, Land Rover, Suzuki, Mazda, and others. You get the suspension kit that you need to take your vehicle off road with confidence and authority.

Owners of select Japanese brands know that Tokico shocks provide the best energy absorbing help for the money. Unlike pricey European brands, Tokico shocks are value priced and are available for many makes and models including popular European and American brands. Tokica Illumina shocks are popular with performance enthusiasts as they are easily adjusted with just one turn of a screwdriver. Youths Need More ATV Parts Than Adult ATV Riders

Youths Need More ATV Parts Than Adult ATV Riders
By Marsha Maung

While ATV riding is an extremely fun and exhilarating past time and sport, it can be dangerous for youths too. Therefore, its not surprising that youths may need more ATV parts replacements than adults. Technically, they are just not as careful as adults and therefore, there are more small mistakes that could prove to be costly. To ensure that you dont end up changing ATV parts for youth every other week, you can either send them for ATV riding training or you could actually teach them how to take care of their ATVs properly. Knowing how to care for and use their ATVs properly is the first step you should take to save on Youth ATV parts.

If you think youth ATV parts are less expensive that the adult version, youre wrong. You see, one of the things with youth ATV parts is that they are specialty items which make them all the rarer. And as you know, the harder the youth ATV part is to find, the more expensive they can be.

ATV parts manufacturers offer training for youths
If youve just bought your children a new ATV, check if the manufacturer or the TV offer training for youths. These ATV part manufactures are actually giving the training for youths for free. ATV parts manufacturers, like AlphaSports, Arctic Cat, Bombardier, Honda, John Deere, Kawasakietc recognize the need to train youths on how to properly ride and take care of their ATV. They also know that it could be frustrating for the parents to have to constantly look for and purchase replacement ATV parts.

So, if youve just gotten your youth a new machine, ask to see if the ATV parts manufacturer actually offers training for youths.

How do I know which Youth ATV parts manufacturer is reliable?

The general rule of thumb is that you ought to keep to well-known brands when it comes to youth ATV parts. The more well-known and established the brand is, the higher the possibility that their products are reliable. Youth ATV parts in the market are priced somewhat the same with very little difference between the good ones and the mediocre ones. Cheap youth ATV parts are easy to find too and even though the price is good, they are not as reliable as the more established brands. For one thing, they dont offer customer support or adequate protection against defects in the product or malfunctioning of the Youth ATV parts that they sell.

Its better to stay away from used Youth ATV parts

The rate of wear-and-tear on ATV parts used by youths is extremely high, therefore, its not advisable for parents to get used ATV parts for their kids ATVs. The most important, we have to remember, is the safety of our children. Using used youth ATV parts is dangerous because we do not know the degree of damage to the youth ATV part. The seller, unfortunately, may have stretched the truth a little further, just to sell you the used ATV part. So, to be on the safe side, always get brand new youth ATV parts for your kids. Dont compromise on their safety.

Many manufacturers of ATV equipment, including AlphaSports, Arctic Cat, Bombardier, Honda, John Deere, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha offer free ATV training to new ATV owners. If you have recently purchased a new ATV in California, don't forget to inquire with your ATV dealer about what kind of ATV training in California they offer.

Identifying Mercruiser Parts

Identifying Mercruiser Parts
By Trish Dougherty

Introduction:

Mercruiser is an advanced marine propulsion system and is available in recreational and commercial vehicles ranging from 1.5-liter displacement to 14.0-liter displacements. These are generally two stroke diesel engine vehicles and are termed as inboards or stern drives depending on the vehicle design.

Mercruiser parts:

This water vehicle contains the following major parts.

Mercruiser Engine:

These are the heart of any vehicle and are available in 4, 6 or 8 cylinders capacities, especially for stern drives. The engine rating and displacement or fuel system are also important for a specific purpose motorboat. These are the important Mercruiser parts and every engine contains a tag specifying details of the engine.

Carburetor:

Carburetor is attached to the fuel delivery system and filters and regulates the supply of fuel to the engine. The carburetor can be identified by its design (filtering and regulating fuel) or matching its design from the catalogue or manual provided with the boat.

Exhaust Manual:

These Mercruiser parts are used for removing combustion gases from engine through exhaust manifold. These are attached to the exhaust system.

Water and Fuel Pumps:

Raw water pumps or circulating water pumps are used for cooling outboard engines by continuously circulating water. These pumps are supplied with full instructions and can be replaced easily. Fuel pumps are small nozzles through which fuel, which is generally diesel, is injected to the engine.

Marine Mufflers:

These are the silencers made from fiberglass and are designed for backpressure compensation and resistant from corrosion. These are in cylindrical shape from varying diameter of 1.5 to 12 inlet and outlet. These are suitable for below waterline installation and can easily be replaced.

Fresh water System:

These are the complete pump and pipe system for circulating fresh water used for cooling 2 stroke outboard engines. These systems are available with complete instructions and can easily be replaced.

Oil Coolers:

These are the cylindrical coolers used for cooling oil and these are available in varying sizes from 5 * 1 to 12 * 1.25 and sometimes two cylinders attached together are provided as dual coolers.

Motor and Gear Lube:

Service manual provides the complete instruction to change engine and gear oil at particular interval and the oil should be changed as per the direction given in manual.

Some other important mercruiser parts include electrical system; power steering, couplers and stern drive parts.

Identifying the mercruiser parts:

A tag is attached to identify engine model, serial number of engine, transcom assembly serial number and drive serial number. Similarly for inboard transmission, model and serial numbers are provided on a tag on the top or side of transmission. You should verify the tag details to the manual provided to you by the manufacturer and both the details should match.

Once you have located the correct model number with specified transmission details, you should see the parts details as figure of each part has been provided. You should identify the figure from catalogue or manual provided to you or you should visit the web site of the manufacturer. Once the parts corresponding to the figure has been identified, you should note down the serial number supplied in the catalogue or web site. Once you are able to locate the exact part number and corresponding serial number, it is easy for you to purchase these parts directly from manufacturer or resellers.

Some Tips To Help You Find Quality BMW Parts And Accessories

Some Tips To Help You Find Quality BMW Parts And Accessories
By Gregg Hall

If you ask a soccer mom if the car she always desired was the mini van that she's currently driving, the answer would probably be a resounding no. Everyone has a car that they have dreamed of owning their whole lives. Some people like old classics, like a '57 Chevy or a '69 Ford Mustang. Other people, such as those with high aspirations, dream of owning a Maserati or Jaguar. Another luxury car at the top of the list for those who want to tool around in style is the BMW. These cars represent status and those who are fortunate enough to own one, drive it proudly, smiling at all of the admiring glances that they get while on the road. Owning one of these cars can symbolize a dream come true, but sometimes that dream can become a nightmare if the car breaks down and the owner has to find parts for it.

If you are in search of quality parts for your BMW, you want to know where to find the best parts for your model of car. It doesn't matter what you need to replace, whether its engine parts, alternator, transmission, exhaust, or mirrors, you will want to know where to find them at economical prices.

Without a doubt, the best place to get BMW parts is through a certified dealer. You can count on them having the part you need in stock, or they will order the appropriate ones for your car. Despite the quality of service and selection, the prices are a little steep for the average consumer. Still some people choose to purchase their parts directly from the dealer so that they know the parts are really BMW parts and not knock-offs. Nothing is worse than paying top dollar for bargain basement parts. In this case, knowing that they are genuine is definitely worth the price.

If you decide to buy your BMW parts from the dealer, you can count on the knowledge and expertise they can provide you. It goes without saying that the mechanics at the dealership will know more about your car part needs than you, and can even assist you with your replacement needs.

If the out-of-pocket cost is more than you want to pay then maybe you should try purchasing your parts online. The internet has thousands of auto part dealers online who offer BMW parts without the BMW costs. The downside to purchasing online is that you run the risk of buying from a dealer who knows less about BMW parts than you. While you are cruising around on the information super highway, you might want to look around for the how-to guide for your vehicle. These guides, while not offering you BMW parts, will let you know how to install them when you get them.

While you are tooling around looking for your BMW parts, you might want to keep your eyes peeled for great deals on fabulous accessories for your BMW. Looking online for your parts and accessories is probably the easiest way to go about it. Take some time to do the research and find the best prices for the necessary parts, you won't regret it. Your BMW and your pocketbook will thank you for all your hard work.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's Address to Detroit Automakers

Arnold Schwarzenegger's Address to Detroit Automakers
By Lisa Ziegler

At the Global Environmental Leadership Conference presented by Newsweek, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger made an address and delivered very strong words to U.S. automakers. The Governor wanted automakers to make changes to reduce harmful exhaust greenhouse gasses emitted by their vehicle models. He also commented to a billboard in Detroit, which criticizes him for mandating the vehicle exhaust emissions standards in California that car makers, especially Michigan-based automakers are unwilling to meet.

Here is some part of Schwarzenegger's speech.

I have to say that I am somewhat amazed to be here, and the reason is because three and a half years ago when I ran for governor I was followed around by environmental protestors with signs. They didnt like my Humvees and Hummers, and my SUVs, or anything that I did. As a matter of fact, when I promised that I would improve the environment when I became governor, they didnt believe that either. So here we are, three and a half years later, and Im on the cover of Newsweek as one of the big environmentalists. Only in America, thats all I can say.

But let me tell you something; even though I love being on the cover of Newsweek, but there should have been some other people on that cover as well, and those are people that were my partners in the Legislature. They have worked very hard, they were incredible partners, and Im talking here about, first of all, Assembly Speaker Fabian Nez and Senator Perata. I invited both of them to come here but they couldnt make it, but I just wanted to thank them publicly for being such great environmentalists and such great leaders in the environment. So lets give them a big hand, even though theyre not here.

And I want to thank also someone that is here with us today, and this is Assemblywoman Fran Pavley. She has been such a great, great warrior.

Let me tell you something; this is the real deal. This is the real deal. This woman has been fighting for the environment way before I ever became governor, and she has really been the author of these very important legislations, and she has worked with our office, and she is a team player. And this is, you can see here, shes a Democrat. Also the Speaker is a Democrat. Senator Perata is a Democrat. So this is what Im talking about, working together in a bipartisan or post-partisan way, and this is how we get things done, because we work what is best for the people of California and for America. So thank you again to Assemblywoman Pavley. (Applause)

Now, I know this is an environmental conference, but I do want to start talking first about bodybuilding. And the reason is because bodybuilding is another passion of mine, as you probably know, and it has similarities there. Bodybuilding used to have a very sketchy image. As a matter of fact, so much so that some people that worked out seriously and pumped weights didnt admit they were doing bodybuilding. As a matter of fact, say in the old days, some of the very famous Hollywood actors like Kirk Douglas, Clint Eastwood, Charles Bronson, and the list goes on and on, they all worked out with weights, but they never admitted it publicly because they didnt want to be associated with the gymnasiums that were like dungeons and that had fanatics, and that had weird people training in there. That is the kind of an image that it had.

But we changed that, we consciously changed that. And what we did was, we came out with a book called Pumping IronI know a lot of you are familiar with that, especially the studentsthen the movie Pumping Iron, and that changed bodybuilding, the image of bodybuilding, dramatically. As a matter of fact, the perception of bodybuilding began to change and it became more and more hip and more and more attractive. And then all of a sudden, everyone wanted to exercise. As a matter of fact, today you can go to any place in the world and you will find a bodybuilding gymnasium or a place where you can do weight resistance training, and you can go into any gymnasium and you will find ordinary people talking about their abs, their lats, their deltoids, body fat, and all those kinds of things. So this is how much it changed. It became mainstream, it became sexy, attractive.

And this is exactly what has to happen with the environmental movement. Like bodybuilders, environmentalists were thought of as kind of weird and fanatics also. You know, the kind of serious tree huggers. Environmentalists were no fun; they were like prohibitionists at a fraternity party. (Applause)

So someone the other day just showed me a cartoon that was of a car salesman in a showroom talking to this couple. And the car salesman pointed at the car and said, This car runs on an ordinary gasoline-powered engine, and then when it feels a little guilt, when it senses guilt, it switches over to battery power. Now, thats funny, its a cartoon. But let me tell you something; theres a lot of truth to that. For too long the environmental movement had been powered by guilt.

But I believe that this is about to switch over from being powered by guilt to being powered by something much more positive, much more dynamic, something much more capable of bringing about major change. You know the kind of guilt Im talking about; the smokestacks belching pollution that are powering our Jacuzzis and our big-screen TVs, and in my case powering my private airplanes. So it is too bad, of course, that we cant all live simple lives like the Buddhist monks in Tibet. But you know something? Thats not going to happen.

So ladies and gentlemen, I dont think that any movement has ever made it and has ever made much progress based on guilt. Guilt is passive, guilt is inhibiting, and guilt is defensive. You remember the commercials a number of years ago, the commercials specifically of a Native American who sees what we have done to the environment and then a year runs down his cheek. You all remember that? Well, let me tell you something; that approach didnt work, because successful movements are built on passion, theyre not built on guilt. Theyre built on passion, theyre built on confidence, and theyre built on critical mass. And often, theyre built on an element of alarm that galvanizes action.

The environmental movement is, to use a popular term, about the tipping point. Its about to get to the tipping point. Theres a tipping point, and I believe the tipping point will be occurring when the environmental movement is no longer seen as a nag or as a scold, but as a positive force in peoples lives. Now, I dont know when that tipping point occurs, but I know wherein California. In California, we are doing everything that we can to tip the balance on the environment.

Now, first, let me start with government policy. I dont want to go into all the initiatives that we have passed and all the laws that we have passed, because that was already eloquently explained by John when he introduced me. But there are two things that stick out that have gotten us the most attention.

1. We passed a law to cap greenhouse gas emissions by 25 percent by the year 2020. That basically means we are rolling back the greenhouse gases to the 1990 level by the year 2020, and then we go 80 percent below that by the year 2050.

2. I ordered a 10 percent cut in the carbon content of transportation fuels.

Now, do I believe that the standards that California sets will solve global warming? Of course not. But what we are doing is applying leverage so that at some point the whole environmental thing tips. Thats what we are trying to do. Its like a seesaw. You walk up to it and then slowly it tips the other way. That is what we are trying to do. California, as you know, is big, California is powerful, and what we do in California has unbelievable impact and it has consequences. As a matter of fact, when you look at the globe, California is a little spot, but the kind of power of influence that we have on the rest of the world is an equivalent of whole huge continent.

We are sending the world a message. What we are saying is that we are going to change the dynamic on greenhouse gas and on carbon emissions. We are taking actions ourselves. We are not waiting for anyone, we are not waiting for the federal government or for Washington. We are creating our own partnerships. We are partnering with Great Britain, we are partnering with provinces in Canada, with states in the United States, with the western states, with the northeastern states. And you know something? Every year we are adding more and more partners to our team. We are increasing the momentum for change.

Now, theres a billboard in Michigan that accuses me of costing the car industry 85 billion dollars. They say because of our new carbon fuel standards I cost them 85 billion dollars. The billboard says Arnold to Michigandrop dead. The fact of the matter is, what Im saying is, Arnold to Michiganget off your butt. Get off your butt and join us. (Applause)
In fact, California may be doing more to save US automakers than anyone else, because what we are doing is we are pushing them to make changes, to make the changes so they can sell their cars in California. And we all knowlets be honestthat if they dont change, someone will. The Japanese will, the Chinese will, the South Koreans will, the Germans will, they all will. So what I want to do is, I want to prevent that from happening. I want them to sell their cars in California. I believe strongly in American technology, and I think in the end it will be technology that will ultimately save Detroit.

Now, California, for instance, has already a car company thats called Tesla Motors. Tesla Motors has just designed and produced a car thats called the Tesla Roadster. Its 100 percent electric. Now, why is it that a car company that has never produced a car before is already producing a car with zero emissionszero emissionsand Detroit is still lagging behind? Now, this car, let me tell you something, is a very sexy looking car. Its really cool. I mean, I test drove it. It goes from 0 to 60 in 4 seconds. It drives 130 miles an hour, and it has 250 miles on a charge, and then the recharging only takes 3 1/2 hours. Now, thats what I call cool. And the car cost 100,000 dollarsto be exact, 98,000 dollarsand it is so popular, it sold out immediately. And now the second version is being produced, and that car, the cost will drop down to 50,000 dollars.

So we can see where that is heading, economics tells us where this is heading. Its like the cell phones. I remember when I bought a cell phone, the first cell phone, which was kind of a radio phone, 20 years ago. It was 1,600 dollars. The next version I bought a few years later was 1,200, and the next one was 750. I just recently bought a cell phone for my daughter and it was below 90 dollars. Now, because of the costs that have dropped down, almost everyone can afford a cell phone, and the same thing is going to happen to the environmental technologies in cars. Government can give a push by setting standards, so California is giving the nation and the world a push.

Well, Let us just wait and see if Detroit and other Michigan automakers like Chrysler Group, maker of Jeep models with quality Jeep vent visor can meet California's emission standards in the near future.

11 Facts You Need to Know When You Get in a Auto Accident

11 Facts You Need to Know When You Get in a Auto Accident
By Joe Kahler

Youre driving down the road with the tunes cranked, but you figure its time to grab a new CD to listen to. You reach down to grab the CD off the floor of the car, and when you look up you have little time to jam on the brakes.

Oops. Dont you hate it when that happens? Perhaps youll be one of the lucky ones who goes a whole lifetime without ever being in an automobile accidentyeah, right. There are some basic rules to follow if you are involved in an accident. The most important thing we hope for is that you dont get hurt. Knowing what to do if you are involved in an accident can save lives and also make the claims process easier.

If You Get Into An Accident

  • Stay where you are. Do not try to move the car out of the way until a police officer comes on the scene and instructs you to do so.

  • If it is a little fender bender, you may pull into the nearest parking lot or to the side of the road.

  • If you are hurt, dont move until the paramedics arrive.

  • If there are witnesses, try and get their names and numbers if they want to leave before the police arrive.

  • No matter whose fault it is, remain calm and be careful when confronted by the other driver.

  • Have your license, registration and insurance card ready. Also be prepared to give your social security number to the police for their report.

  • If you get into a fender bender and no police are involved, YOU NEED TO EXCHANGE EACH OTHERS CAR INSURANCE INFORMATION AND GET THEIR NAME, NUMBER AND DRIVERS LICENSE INFORMATION. You may want to exchange work information and phone numbers as well. Its also a good idea to write down their license plate number and make of their car just in case.

  • Ask the investigating officer where you can obtain a copy of the police report. You will probably need it when you submit your claim to your insurance company.

  • If necessary, have the car towed to a repair shop. But remember, your insurance company probably will want to have an adjuster inspect it and appraise the damage before you order repair work done.

  • Make notes. Keep a pad and pencil in your glove compartment. Write down:

1.The names and addresses of all drivers and passengers involved in the accident.

    2. License plate numbers.

    3. Make and model of each car.

    4. Driver's license numbers.

    5. Insurance identifications names and addresses of witnesses.

6.Names and badge numbers of police officers or other emergency personnel.

You want to write all this information down to help with your insurance claim AND to have the important information just in case the other driver tries to change the story or take you to court.

  • If you hit an unattended vehicle or object, try to find the owner. If you can't, leave a note containing your name, address and phone number. Record the details of the accident.

    MercedesBenz Parts in the Aftermarket

    Mercedes-Benz Parts in the Aftermarket
    By Chris Casarez

Traditionally, finding a source for OEM and aftermarket Mercedes parts meant having to live in or close to a large city like Los Angeles, and flipping through the phonebook to find a licensed Mercedes parts dealer. However, the power of the internet allows for the luxury of finding Mercedes parts and accessories from the comfort of your own home. Whether you are shopping for Mercedes accessories to upgrade your interior or exterior, or repair parts to replace your Mercedes wheels or those squeaky brakes, finding your parts is no longer like pulling teeth! Online Mercedes parts distributors tend to carry an impressive line of quality manufacturers, including Genuine Mercedes-Benz, Bosch, MP Design, Bilstein, GAP, Schatz, and H&R to name a few, so finding quality Mercedes accessories is never difficult.

With parts diagrams you can see how your chosen Mercedes engine part fits into your Mercedes engine, or how your chosen Mercedes brake pad fits up against your rotor. Parts diagrams take some of the uneasiness out of shopping for parts shopping by providing the visual comfort generally associated with a brick and mortar store.

USA Today Named Really American Cars

USA Today Named Really American Cars
    By Anthony Fontanelle

Globalization has been increasing steadily and this has made the distinction between American cars and foreign cars. In the U.S. market, Asian and European brands are making their presence felt. American car makers on the other hand are extending their reaches to other regions of the world.

With these things going on, it is hard to find out which vehicle is really American. This attribute plays a major role for American car buyers who are loyal to the homegrown brands like Chevrolet, Ford, and Chrysler. The line between foreign car and American cars has been blurred though by globalization.

Asian and European car manufacturers are producing their vehicles in the United States. On the other hand, American car makers produce their vehicles in other parts of the world. These then would be later be shipped back to the United States to be sold.

To add to the confusion, there are American branded vehicles produced in the United States but owned by a foreign company like in the case of Dodge being owned by DaimlerChrysler AG based in Germany.

To help patriotic Americans find out which cars in the market are really American, USA Today the American newspaper with the widest circulation named which cars are really American. USA Today ranked vehicles for the 2007 model year by U.S. or Canada Content Percentage depending on where they are produced, and, of course, the brand name among others.

Topping the list of the most American car are four models from the Ford Motor Company. The Ford Edge, Econoline, Expedition, and the Lincoln MKX got the highest percentage rating of 95 percent. The Ford Crown Victoria got a 90 percent rating along with other models including the Ford F-150, Mercury Grand Marquis, the Chevrolet Impala and Silverado, and the GMC Sierra.

The list shows that the market offers no totally American car which means that globalization is doing its work and even an EBC pad cannot stop it.

Other car which posted 85 or above percentage rating came from the Big Threes various brands. The Cadillac DTS was rated to be 87 percent American by USA Today. Vehicles which received 86 percent ratings are the Buick Rainer, Chevrolet Express Savana, Chevrolet Malibu, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy/XL, GMC Savana, Hummer H3, Pontiac G6, and the Saturn Aura. All of these models are produced in the United States.

Models which got 85 percent rating from USA Today are the Dodge Viper, the Ford Freestyle, the Lincoln Mark LT, the Lincoln Town Car, the Buick Lucerne, the Cadillac XLR, the Chevrolet Corvette, the Chevrolet Colorado, the GMC Canyon, and the Saturn Ion.

More and more car makers from other countries building facilities in the United States, and U.S. car manufacturers setting up plants on different countries, the distinction between an American and a foreign car will get even more blurred. For some Americans, this poses a serious problem when choosing a new car to buy.

10 Worst Autos Of The Year

10 Worst Autos Of The Year
    By Joe Ratzkin

Earlier, The Truth About Cars (TTAC) conducted a survey having its faithful and candid readers as respondents. The survey is all about tracking the Ten Worst Automobile Today (TWAT) from all the vehicles available in the United States within this year. The polls and tallying are closed. Further, the winners are yet to be unraveled. The winners of the 2006 TTAC Ten Worst Automobile Today awards are the following:

On the tenth place is Chevrolet Aveo. The automaker claims that said car is the lowest [new car in America however; the contents of the vehicle may vary. In the United States and Canada, Aveo is available in both 5-door and 4-door models. Chevrolet Aveo sedan debuted in January this year at the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show. Lincoln Mark LT landed on the ninth place. According to TTAC's voters, the car is an unholy degradation of the world-famous Lincoln Mark nomenclature. In addition, it is said that the Mark LT is a rolling testament to Dearborn's short-term, suicidal reliance on bean-counted engineering.

Saab 9-7x entered in the eighth place of the TWAT. Voters say that the car is nothing more than a Chevy Trailblazer with the ignition key between the seats. Subaru B9 Tribeca, a crossover SUV, settled on the seventh place. Some enthusiasts are saying Subaru should not have bothered building an SUV.

On the sixth place is Chevrolet Monte Carlo, which is said to be a wrong wheel-drive engineering joke from the late '80's. Next on the line is the Hummer H2. The latter, according to some, is so heavy that IRS will give the purchaser a tax break because you just bought a piece of commercial farm equipment. They further added that it looks like a school bus from behind and a morbidly obese Cherokee from every other angle.

The fourth placer is Chrysler Aspen. Simon and Garfunkel said, Every way you look at this you lose. Some of the comments to this car are: It's ugly. It's thirsty. It's slow. It's badly built. It's cramped. It's expensive. Landing on the third place is Buick Rendezvous, which is based on a 1997 minivan.

Jeep Compass landed on the second place. Jeep auto parts that include round headlights and a 7-slot grill made Compass repulsive to TTAC enthusiasts.

Finally, the worst among the worst belong to General Motors. GM Minivans Talk emerged as the TTAC's accolade as the worst vehicles currently for sale in America. Chevrolet Uplander, Pontiac SV6, Buick Terraza, and Relay that boasts its Saturn auto body parts fall short of pleasing aficionados.

Joe Ratzkin is an avid fan of anything automotive. This 34-year old bachelor wanted to be a mechanic when he was a kid but changed his mind and became a freelance writer and researcher instead. He is currently based in Chicago, Illinois. You can visit Jeep auto parts for more information.

    The Truth About AutoTransport Companies

    The Truth About Auto-Transport Companies
    By Nick Telford II

Auto-transport companies are designed to facilitate a
person's need to transport cars from one location to
another. Whether a person is moving or they have sold their
vehicle via Internet auction, the car can be transported
without adding mileage or road wear to it.

In some cases, it's just easier to transport a car rather
than make the lengthy drive out of time considerations.
There are some things to know about auto-transport
    companies in advance.

The process of shipping a car from one location to another,
especially across long distances, requires planning ahead
and doing your homework. Whether you are a frequent shipper
or a first timer, always shop the price with various
    different car transport services.

Factors such as costs of gas, number of cars already going
in that direction and seasons can impact the expense.

The auto transport service will need to know where the car
is going from and to, the make, model and year of the car
as well as when the customer wants the car to ship. Most
transporters will not guarantee exact dates, if one
promises you that then make sure you have it in writing.

All transport companies require a contract, which should be
carefully reviewed prior to signing. The contract will
cover information needed on topics like damage to the
vehicle, delays, cancellation and accident as well as
    insurance coverage.

If insurance is not listed on the contract, it's a good
idea to find out what the transporter offers by way of
    insurance.

In general, auto transporters are safe, trustworthy and the
vehicle will arrive in great condition. However, the
contract stipulates all conditions for recourse, including
reimbursement for damages in the event there are any, so be
sure to look it over carefully.

The transporter will inspect the car upon arrival at either
the depot it will be departing from or when the truck
arrives at the house where it is kept. Either way, the
inspection will note in writing and by sketch, all nicks,
dings, dents and other hints of damage on the body of the
vehicle. This is the 'Origin Inspection Report' and should
be held onto or forwarded to the receiver of the vehicle.

When the car arrives at its final destination, the receiver
should take the time to slowly go over the entirety of the
car and verify that nothing is different from the
inspection report. Without this verification, if the
receiver signs the driver's release form then the
transporter is no longer liable for any damages that might
be discovered later. So make sure the receiver has the time
    to do the work correctly.

Auto transporters provide an invaluable service for people
who must relocate cross-country, across stateliness and
even across oceans. There are transporters who will take
vehicles to and from Hawaii, Europe and other foreign
destinations. So whether you are relocating yourself,
selling your car or purchasing a car, an auto transporter
    can service your needs.

transport services. Find out what you must do, and what
    you must not do. Click

10 Ways to Prevent Auto Theft

10 Ways to Prevent Auto Theft
    By Jeannie Davila

We are now part of the Twenty-First Century. This is good in many ways because we have learned a lot from our past and have transformed our lives with more technology. This has made life more interesting and progressive. The downside to this century is that as our world grows around us we are more prone to be at risk with all of our surroundings.

I would like to now take time to give you ways to not be at risk when it comes to your car being stolen in the Twenty-First Century. We might all have ideas but here is my list of 10 ways to prevent auto theft.

One - Have an anti-theft device or alarm system on the car. When a vehicle is purchased make sure that it has an anti-theft device or an alarm system it. This is an easy step for you to do at the dealership and it is only the beginning of prevention.

Two - Always lock the car doors. Lock the doors even if you are entering your residence to grab that one item that you forgot to take on your way out the door. Theft can happen in matters of seconds.

Three - Keep your window ups. Your vehicle windows should always be up when no one is in the vehicle. Having the doors locked will not help you if the windows are left down. With the windows up and the doors locked you will prevent personal belongings and even the car itself from being stolen.

Four - Do not leave personal items in the car in plain site. Never leave property inside of an unattended vehicle. Items that thieves will break into your automobile for are purses, shopping bags, backpacks, etc. And once a thief is in the car for these items they might also find any important documents, or credit cards you left in the vehicle. Then the next step is that once they have broken into the car is to steal the car itself.

Five - Do not leave the car keys in the ignition! Sometimes when we are in a hurry we might forget and leave the keys in the ignition. If you do this you are making it way to easy for the thief to steal your vehicle.

Six - Have your windows tinted. If possible have your vehicle windows tinted. With tinted windows it should be more obvious to any by stander if a stranger going to break into your car. The thief will have to try and peer into the car to figure out how to break in and that is the normal stance of a person who owns a car. Also having tinted windows makes it harder for a possible thief to see what belongings you have in a car.

Seven - Get an aftermarket anti-theft device. To have an extra protection you can go to an auto parts stores and buy an anti-theft device that you can use yourself in your automobile. For these types of devices you do not need professional installations. The most popular is the device that locks around your steering wheel, this is commonly known as The Club.

Eight - Do not leave a vehicle on and unattended. Never leave car running unattended not even for a second. We sometimes stop at a gas station to grab something and pay for it real quick and that is making it extra easy for the thief to drive off in your car. So even if you are just running into a store for two minutes, turn off your car and take your keys with you.

Nine - Do not leave a spare key where a thief can find it. It is very common for one to have a spare key under the car, this is not recommended. Too many people have used this trick so to prevent locking themselves out of their car. Thieves are smart and know where to look for that extra key. So you might get locked out of your car but if you leave that spare key under your car you could end up loosing your whole vehicle.

Ten - Park in a public place with plenty of light. Make sure to park you car in a lighted area if at all possible. Park in a place where your car is visual to public. The more eyes on it will be more difficult for a thief to do anything to it. A car is more likely to get stolen if it is parked in a dark area where a thief can slink up to the car than if in a well lit area in which a thief's every move could be seen.

Those are my personal 10 tips of how to prevent your car from being stolen. I hope you take this information and think on how you can keep your car from being stolen. Once you have implemented these tips file this article in your book of information on safety features and preventive measures you do to your vehicle.

~AUTO ACCIDENT INSURANCE CAIM~ Getting Reimbursed For Your Pain and Suffering

~AUTO ACCIDENT INSURANCE CAIM~ Getting Reimbursed For Your Pain and Suffering
    By Dan Baldyga

Youve had a motor vehicle accident some time ago when a local character by the name of Fred Fuddle smashed into your rear end but now you're in the home stretch with his Adjuster, I. M. Strong, and youre going to be paid for your loss by Strongs employer, Rock Solid Insurance. A good portion of it will be for your Pain and Suffering. That is, in the lingo of insurance claim settlements, your Compensatory Damages. Let's talk about that:

BODILY INJURY PAIN: How much pain can an individual stand? The answer to that is: Reaction to pain not only differs with each of us, but often within each of us. While pain can usually be scientifically measured, the limits of human endurance cannot. We all have a different Pain Threshold - - that is, the point at which we begin to feel physical distress as we enter into, and then deal with, a period of suffering.

A lot depends on what's going on in your life and how you experience it. Temperament and psychological factors are involved. Like, for example, your personal life is in a shambles (for any number of reasons) and that has hindered your ability to recover. Or, perhaps the company you work for is on the brink of bankruptcy!

The mechanism through which you feel an injury is so complicated that there are times when the same pain appears to be more (or less) than that of previous days. For example: one day you have a problem that causes you to complain endlessly. This makes you impossible to live with and your pain seems to be much stronger. Yet, a similar situation on a much better day, doesnt upset you so profoundly and the pain is not nearly as bad.

YOUR PAIN AND SUFFERING (Your Compensatory Damages): The type of injury you suffered, as a result of Fred Fuddle crashing into you (plus the nature and length of your treatment) are two of the best indicators for both the adjuster and Rock Solid Insurance to consider regarding the Pain and Suffering you experienced. However, there are several other areas you should call to the attention of Adjuster Strong so as to make him aware of what you've been dealing with.

MEDICATION: The fact that you were prescribed either over-the-counter or prescription medication by Ole Doc Comfort, your family physician, to relieve pain, inflammation (and/or any other injury symptoms), will help to convince I. M. Strong that your injuries were serious and caused you to endure a great deal of Pain and Suffering. No matter which way you slice that cake, the more powerful the medication, and the longer its prescribed for, the greater the value your claim will be. That's a fact of life in the business of insurance claims.

LENGTH OF RECOVERY: The longer your recovery period, the greater your Pain and Suffering- - therefore the higher the settlement value of your bodily injury. Make sure Doc Comfort clearly indicates this in his Final Medical Report. Tell him he must state in writing (via the weeks and months) how long it will be, before you were able to engage in your routine activities. Make sure he doesn't send that report directly to Adjuster Strong. You get it first and then later on youll send it along to Strong. But, before you do, read it. If good Ole Doc Comfort hasn't clearly stated this, hand it back to him and tell him he must. You have every right to insist that he does. You're paying his bills, it's your report, your insurance claim, and your big bucks he's not being serious about!

As long as you continue to have physical problems you should keep going back to see your doctor, again and again, and again ! Other than the obvious Pain and Suffering it will help to convince Rock Solid Insurance youve endured, there are two other very good reasons for doing this. They are as follows:

    (1) The fact that your records show visits to your doctor, four, six, eight (or even more) weeks after the accident, will convince Adjuster Strong and Rock Solid that your injury took a long time to deal and required continual attention. (Plus it clearly indicates each and every day you were unable to work and therefore it proves, beyond the shadow of any doubt, the income you lost). Never forget: Your attending physicians Medical Report is the only way you can prove you were unable to work and in any court of law that will justify your claim for lost wages.

    (2) When you visit Doc Comfort be sure to tell him there's been little (if any!) decrease of your pain, discomfort, stiffness or immobility. Make sure, when he does execute that Final Medical Report, this is clearly stated in his written remarks. If it isn't you have every right to go back, hand it to him and insist that it is.

SCARS: In many instances large and obvious scaring increase's the value of your claim (big time!) - - especially if the scarred portion of your body is visible. If you've been sitting at a desk for 25 years, your chin is double, your hair is gone, and you own a bulging stomach, and thats where the scar is, its not going to be worth much. But, if you're a tall, dark and handsome, twenty year old and the scar is on your face, than it's worth a ton. Take colored photographs of every scar and every scrape that causes swelling and/or discoloration to your skin plus every mark on your body! After youve handed a copy of those photographs to Adjuster I M. Strong hell be sending them to his boss in the Home Office. Ive been in that seat so I can flat out guarantee you his immediate superior in the home office will stare at those photos and gulp. Hell blanch, take a deep breath and send Strong a one liner that reads something like: Do whatever it takes to get rid of this one. Se!

ttle it and lets move on.

If the scar is bad enough insist that Dr. Comfort refer you to a Plastic Surgeon for an opinion as to whether your scar can be repaired and/or removed. Once you've been examined ask that Specialist to detail in writing (and insist that he send his report to you) how much it will cost to make it look right again. You may never get it repaired, and/or removed, but include that Plastic Surgeon's report, plus copies of the bills youve accumulated because of your visits to him, and hand them to Adjuster Strong. This will absolutely, positively give your claim more value !

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS REGARDING OBTAINING THE SERVICES OF A LAWYER:

QUESTION: Is it necessary to obtain the services of an attorney who will take a cut of 33 1/3% of the settlement (in some states up to 50%) he recovers from the insurance company of the individual who struck you? ANSWER: Yes, there are some situations where it makes sense to do so. HOWEVER: Especially in a case where the impact is absolutely not your fault in any way, shape, manor or form - - you should be clear with the lawyer you choose that those out-of-pocket expenses you would have been paid (weather they represented you or not) should not be part of his settlement!

Lets say, for example: You were at a dead stop while waiting for a light to change from red to green, when struck a tremendous blow in the rear by a distracted driver. Its 100% clear to all concerned that the damages you received will be paid by the insurance company of the individual that struck you.

The property damage to your motor vehicle is $2,800, your lost wages are $450, your final Doctors bill (plus all your other Out-Of-Pocket Medical Expenses) comes to $750 for a total (Property Damages/Lost Wages/Medical Bills) of $4,000. you live in an area where the lawyers typical Contingency Fee is 33 1/3%. QUESTION: Should that lawyer take 33/13% ($1,333.33) of that $4,000? ANSWER: No! QUESTION: Why not? ANSWER: Because you were going to get that $4,000 weather there was an attorney representing you or not! In a situation where the liability is clear the attorney should take, as his fee, 33 1/3% of everything he gets above and beyond , that $4,000!

So, lets say the attorney obtained a settlement of $4,800 for your Pain and Suffering. When that figure is added to the $4,000 of Out-Of-Pocket Expenses (as detailed above) the total would come to $8,800. To be fair he should not take 1/3 of $8,800 ($2,933.33 - - thus leaving you with $5,866.66) but 1/3 of the $4,800 ($1,600 - - thus leaving you with $7,200). QUESTION: What has he done to earn that additional $1,333.34? ANSWER: Absolutely nothing!

ZAP Expands Auto Dealership In Davis California

ZAP Expands Auto Dealership In Davis, California
    By Glady Reign

ZAP, the pioneer electric car dealership, have expanded to cover the City of Davis. The company will be the first dealership in the territory to wade through the waters for the said purpose. Davis is famed for being one of the most bicycle-friendly towns around the world.

Additionally, the University of California at Davis is also popular for advanced transportation technologies, with its equally-famous Institute for Transportation Studies. Theo Drushell and Tom Kelly are Davis' first electric car dealers, with Davis Electric Cars. I think the size of [Davis allows you to live on the outskirts and drive to town and back several times on the same charge, said Theo Drushell, the co- owner of Davis Electric Cars, to the UC Davis Newspaper, The California Aggie. Davis is also flat, so driving around will take less energy.

The new dealership in Davis carries ZAP's XEBRA truck and sedan. The XEBRA, also called the city-car, is especially designed for short distance driving up to 40 mph. The car also was designed to easily and conveniently fill the need of all-electric cars and trucks. This is because auto owners are anxious about the inflation of gas prices. And the tendency is for them to search for more viable alternatives so as not to drill a hole in their pocket.

The efficiency of the truck and sedan is delivered without compromising affordability. According to the company, the XEBRA can be a great value for corporate and business fleets looking to save money on fuel, but also could be just what environmentalists are looking for as an alternative. In addition, purchasers can even order zebra-stripes.

The XEBRA, manufactured in partnership with a Chinese automaker, will be priced at about $10,000. It is also expected to cost about $0.02 cents per mile to charge on electricity versus $0.12 cents or more for gasoline. [The cars plug into regular 110-watt plugs, said Drushell. You can plug it in at home, at work, at certain businesses and hotels.

The vehicles will be showcased at the dealership and previous events like the UC Davis Picnic Day Parade, the Green Car Gala and Celebrate Davis! On April 21st from noon to four oclock in the afternoon, Davis Electric Cars will sponsor a Grand Opening Celebration at its Olive Drive location.

One of the best benefits of electric cars is maintenance. They have less than ten percent moving parts compared to a gasoline-powered auto. They do not have pistons, transmission, clutch, engine oil, grinding starters, rotors, spark plugs, valves, distributor, oil filters, fuel pumps, fuel filters, air filters, radiators, anti-freeze, water pumps, timing belts, fan belts, catalytic converters, or mufflers. But other efficient parts similar to the EBC brake pads are not compromised. Moreover, with electric cars, there will be no fumes, smog tests, exhaust, oil changes, loud engine, radiator flushes, warm-ups, and gas lines. Another plus point is that the batteries are recyclable.

Theo Drushell and Tom Kelly, owners of Davis Electric Cars, are advocates of bicycle transportation first and EV transportation as an alternative. Drushell, an alumnus of Humboldt State University, and his wife, a graduate of UC Davis, are committed to bring the goal to life. Kelly, an alumnus UC Berkeley, is also a long-time advocate of employing technology to support refinement in an environmentally friendly way.

Anthony Fontanelle is a 35-year-old automotive.buff who grew up in the Windy City. He does freelance work for an automotive magazine when he is not busy customizing cars in his shop. You can visit EBC brake pads for more information.
